Votator® II Horizontal - Scraped Surface Heat Exchangers
Votator scraped surface heat exchangers have been replacing slow, inefficient batching operations with more uniform, controllable and repeatable continuous processing.

For more than 80 years, Votator簧 scraped surface heat exchangers have been replacing slow, inefficient batching operations with more uniform, controllable and repeatable continuous processing. The Votator簧 II incorporates the most popular features of the Thermutator簧 and Votator簧 lines, making it extremely easy to maintain. The Votator簧 II and the Extra Heavy Duty Votator簧 II replace the Thermutator簧 and standard Votator簧 units, and is also available as a vertical unit.

Single and Double Mechanical Seals

Integral Gear Motor Drive
- Gear drive is directly coupled to the mutator shaft eliminating the need for a secondary drive shaft and bearing block

- Easy to maintain and self-aligning
- Available with up to 30 horsepower for handling the most viscous products
Removable Heat Transfer Tube
- Can be serviced without disturbing hydraulic lifting system, utility piping, or the drive assembly
- Flange bolted to the jacket on the non-driven end, allows for quick removal
- Reliable double o-ring seal on each end eliminates the need for an expansion joint
Heat Transfer Area
- Units are available with up to 11 sq ft of heat transfer area (6 X 84)
Product Specifications
Blade selection is based on many factors including compatibility with the heat exchanger tube material, product fluid characteristics, processing temperatures, and cost. Metal blades provide the best scraping properties, which means theoretically better heat transfer. However, metal blades are usually the most expensive, must run on a hard chrome surface and must be properly sharpened to avoid damaging the heat transfer tube. Today, with the development of new high temperature and FDA compliant plastic materials, there are alternatives to metal blades. The blade options below provides a wide range of our most popular blades. Many other options are also available.
